Mikhaila Fitzsimmons MScPT, BKin completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta and holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Calgary. She also worked as a clinic assistant with Active Sports Therapy for three years and is happy to be rejoining the team as a physiotherapist.
Mikhaila is keen to work with patients of all abilities to help them reach their full potential whether that be athletic pursuits or simply pain free movement. She utilizes a variety of techniques including education, exercise prescription, soft-tissue mobilization, manual therapy and modalities to help patients achieve their goals. Her previous experience includes working with older adults, athletes, and individuals with neurological and vestibular conditions.
Mikhaila has always led an active lifestyle and participated in 7 high school sports including wrestling, rugby, basketball, volleyball, badminton, track and field and cross country. Outside of the clinic she enjoys cycling, hiking and coaching flag football and has taken a recent interest in triathlons. Mikhaila lived in Venezuela for a year and also speaks Spanish fluently.
